Frequently asked questions

Are all the meals frozen?

Our set à la carte menu of soups, stews, and porridges are made fresh in our commercial kitchen, cooled, and immediately frozen. Colleen also offers custom delivery packages of frozen and fresh meals!

How do I reheat the food?

We recommend thawing on a plate in the fridge for 16-24 hours, and then heating low and slow on the stove. You can always add more water, broth, or milk to get to your preferred texture.

How long do meals last?

According to the USDA, frozen food is good indefinitely when stored at or below 0 °F (-17.8 °C). For freshest results, we recommend using within 3-6 months. Thawed food will last in the fridge for several days and does better in an airtight container. Never re-freeze thawed food.

Do I need to be postpartum to order?

Absolutely not! While our meals are created with the postpartum season in mind, they are perfect for anyone who wants nutrient-dense, warming food.

How does delivery work?

We take online orders throughout the week, and deliver locally on Mondays from 10am-3pm. Orders close at 11:59pm on Fridays. Delivery date will always be specified on the top banner of our site. Food is temperature-regulated during delivery. If you won't be home during this time, we recommend setting out a cooler for us to leave your order.

Can you accomodate allergies?

All menu items state their ingredients and allergens. Please note that we operate from a shared production facility housing multiple independent businesses. This means trace amounts of major allergens (such as milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, and sesame) may be present in the air, on surfaces, or in shared equipment.
